Sushant’s death: CBI files report in Supreme Court

Sushant

New Delhi: The CBI has filed a report in the Supreme Court in connection with the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The affidavit states that no two cases are pending in two states in connection with Sushant’s death.

Maharashtra Police has not registered an FIR in Sushant Singh’s death. Only Bihar police have registered an FIR. The CBI explains that recording the statements of 56 people is not equivalent to filing a case.

The CBI has filed a petition in the case filed by Riya Chakraborty seeking transfer of the probe from Bihar to Maharashtra. The Maharashtra government has said that the Bihar police registered the case illegally and the case should not be referred to the CBI. The court had asked all the parties in the case to submit their arguments in writing. Riya has made similar arguments in a statement.

At the same time, Riya Chakraborty made it clear that she would not object if the Supreme Court ordered a CBI probe. In a written submission to the court, Riya Chakraborty also asked the CBI not to allow an inquiry into the Patna police FIR.
