New Delhi: Senior Supreme Court lawyer Fali S Nariman (95) passed away. He died due to a heart attack at 1:30 am on Wednesday.
In recognition of his contribution to Indian justice field, Fali S Nariman has been awarded Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan by the country. He was a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha from 1999 to 2005.
He is the son of former Supreme Court judge Rohingtan Nariman. Began practice as an advocate in the Bombay High Court in November 1950. Appointed Senior Advocate in 1961. Additional Solicitor General 1972-1975. He resigned when Emergency was declared. Practiced as a lawyer for more than 70 years.
