Kollam: Four fishermen were killed in a road accident at Chavara in Kollam. Karunambaram (56), Berkumans (45), Justin (56) from Vizhinjam and Biju (35) from Pulluvila, Thiruvananthapuram.
And died. Two persons were admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. An insulated van carrying fish to Thiruvananthapuram collided with a minibus carrying fishermen from Pulluvila, Thiruvananthapuram to Beypore near Edappally fort on the Chavara National Highway at 12.30 last night. Roy (26) from Vizhinjam and Varghese (40) from Marthandam were admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. Meanwhile, 22 seriously injured people were admitted to Karunagapally Taluk Hospital. There were 35 people in the minibus. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and took part in the rescue operation.
