Thiruvananthapuram: The government has released new standards for Covid treatment in the state. It has been suggested that all government hospitals should focus on Covid treatment till May 31. Non-Covid treatments are only of urgent cases. The health department has decided to convert all fever clinics into Covid clinics.
It is also proposed to set up oxygen beds in taluk hospitals. At least five ventilator beds should be prepared. Second tier Covid centers should be connected with taluk hospitals. Primary and family health centers should ensure stock of steroids and medications. Inpatients will receive oxygen and treatment at home. The guideline also says that Covid OP should be started in private hospitals as well.
