Hyderabad: A court in Hyderabad has sentenced six accused in the Miyapur gang-rape case to life imprisonment. In addition, each has to pay a fine of Rs 20,000. Another defendant in the case is being tried in juvenile court.
The incident happened in 2019. The girl was on her way to the temple with a friend when the accused gang-raped her in a bush near the Miyapur railway station.
The group was sitting on the railway track and getting drunk. After beating and subduing a friend, the defendants raped the girl in a bush where she was hiding. The police had registered a case on the complaint of the girl’s friend. The charges against the accused are gang rape and attempted murder.
