Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has said that the retirement age for government employees in Tamil Nadu has been raised to 60. As per Rule 110, he has announced in the Assembly that the hike will apply to all government employees, including government, aided educational institutions, public sector undertakings, and local bodies, and those retiring on May 31, 2021.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister announced that all the students of 8th, 9th, and 10th classes in Tamil Nadu have passed. The government ordered the students to skip the exams after failing to complete classes due to the spread of Covid. It is not appropriate to conduct the exam in the context of Covid.
