Heavy Rains: The death toll in Andhra Pradesh rises to 19

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh death toll rises to 19. In Anantapur, a building collapsed, killing four people, including two children. Seven killed in Chittoor floods 25 missing in Nantallur. The search is on for the missing persons who were swept away by buses in Kadapa. 18 people have not been found yet. The number of missing persons has now risen to 100. More members of the National Disaster Response Force were deployed to the rescue.


Heavy rains continue in the eastern districts of Andhra Pradesh due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in the Tirupati temple area. Visit to Tirupati has been suspended due to landslides. Many of the sub-temples are underwater. Hundreds of pilgrims from different states have been stranded. Isolated pilgrims in hotels and on the way were shifted to government centers. All four streets near the Tirupati temple were flooded.
