New Delhi: A woman was gang-raped at a railway station in New Delhi. According to police, a 30-year-old woman was gang-raped in the electrical maintenance staff room of the New Delhi railway station. Police arrested four railway employees in the incident.
Police said that the woman was gang-raped at the railway station on Thursday night. Satish Kumar (35), Vinod Kumar (38), Mangalchand Meena (33) and Jagadish Chand (37) have been arrested in the case. All of them are employees of the electrical department of railways.
Two of the accused locked the woman in the room and raped her. Two others were standing guard outside the room. The woman called the police at around 3.27 am on Friday morning and reported the complaint. Then the police would investigate and arrest the accused.
The complainant has been living separately from her husband for the past one year. The woman met one of the accused two years ago through her friend. He introduced himself as a railway employee and recently promised to give the woman a job in the railways.
On July 21, he invited the woman to his house. He was invited to the house to attend his son’s birthday celebration and to celebrate the purchase of a new house. He then took the woman to the New Delhi railway station, who reached the Kirtinagar metro station around 10.30 pm on Thursday. After being brought here, the woman was taken to the electrical maintenance room. After asking her to sit in the room, he left. Police say that after a few minutes, the accused came to the room with another person and after locking the room from inside, both of them took turns to rape the woman. The other two accused in the case were standing guard outside the room at this time. The police informed that all the four accused who were produced in the court were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
