New Delhi: Draupadi Murmu was sworn in as the 15th President of the country. Supreme Court Chief Justice NV Ramana administered the oath.
Draupadi Murmu, who arrived at Parliament in a limousine with President Ram Nath Kovind, was sworn in at a ceremony in the Central Hall of Parliament. Dignitaries including the Prime Minister were present on the occasion.
As the country prepares to celebrate its 75th Independence Day, 64-year-old Draupadi Murmu, a leader of the tribal community, will become the nation’s leader. Addressing the nation, Draupadi Murmu said that she thanked everyone and would keep the nation’s faith.
