New Delhi: The Lieutenant Governor has recommended a CBI probe into the complaint of corruption in the purchase of low-floor buses by the Delhi government. The Lt Governor’s action is based on the Chief Secretary’s report.
On the recommendation of the Lt. Governor, the CBI registered the case and started the investigation. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is accused in the case. Following this, the Lieutenant Governor recommended a CBI investigation into the complaint of corruption in the procurement of low-floor buses by the Delhi government.
Allegations of corruption were raised in connection with the purchase of 1000 low-floor buses by the Delhi Transport Corporation last year. Two contracts were awarded for purchase of buses and maintenance of buses in coming years.
It is alleged that corruption has taken place in the process of tendering these contracts. The Lieutenant Governor received a complaint in this regard in June.
