Bollywood actress Asha Parekh to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award

New Delhi:  Veteran Bollywood actress Asha Parekh has been awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The award is for comprehensive contributions to the Indian film industry. President Draupadi Murmu will present a prize of Rs 10 lakh and a plaque. Union Minister Anurag Thakur made the announcement.

The major movies are Hum Saya, Love in Tokyo, Kanyadaan, Gunghat, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Do Badan, Chiraag, Siddi, etc. Asha Parekh, who retired from acting and turned to television serial production, is the first woman to chair the Censor Board.
