Dubai: Air India Express officials have announced that the free check-in baggage allowance has been increased to 30 kg for passengers flying to destinations in the Middle East including the UAE. In addition to the free check-in baggage allowance, the airline also provides free cabin baggage allowance of up to two pieces of baggage not exceeding 7 kg.
Guests can also carry a laptop bag, handbag, backpack or any other small bag that fits under the front-facing seat, officials said.
Importantly, the airline offers an extra check-in baggage allowance of 10 kg for families traveling with babies. With this, the total allowance including 7 kg cabin baggage allowance has increased to 47 kg.
Passengers who want to travel without luggage can opt for Express Lite, which has lower fares than regular fares and a cabin baggage allowance of 3 kg. Passengers who require check-in baggage later can pre-book additional check-in baggage at a reduced rate of 15 kg on domestic flights and 20 kg on international flights, the contacts said.
