AAP suffered a setback in the first hour of the Delhi Assembly election results. BJP’s lead crosses the majority. BJP’s continued dominance in postal votes continued even when EVMs started counting. Those who win 36 seats in the 70-member Assembly can form the government. AAP came to power in the last election by winning 62 seats. In 2015, AAP won 67 seats while BJP had only three MLAs. In 2015 and 2020, Congress could not win even a single seat. 699 candidates contested in 70 assembly constituencies.
