Actor and filmmaker Basil Joseph has taken the internet by storm with his “prophetic” powers during the T20 World Cup Final. A video of Basil accurately predicting a sixer by his close friend and Indian cricketer Sanju Samson has gone viral across social media platforms.
The incident took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the high-stakes final between India and New Zealand. Basil was at the stadium to cheer for Sanju, accompanied by Xylem Group CEO Dr. Ananthu and popular social media influencer Nihal (Nihalka).
In the video, Basil is seen looking confidently at the camera and chanting “Six… Six!” just as Sanju prepares to face the ball. Within seconds, the ball soared over the boundary for a maximum, sending the stadium into a frenzy.
What caught the fans’ attention was Basil’s “cool” reaction—shrugging it off as if it were business as usual—while his friend Nihal was seen holding his head in disbelief at the accuracy of the prediction. Fans have since dubbed Basil the “Prediction King” (Pravachana Simham).
Earlier, a video of the trio hunting for Sanju Samson jerseys outside the stadium had also gained traction. Sanju Samson played a match-winning knock of 89 runs, leading India to a 96-run victory over New Zealand and earning the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title.
