Covid; West Bengal extends restrictions

Kolkata: West Bengal has extended restrictions in the wake of the covid outbreak. The restrictions have been extended till January 31. The stadiums are allowed to open with restrictions. Up to 200 people can attend the wedding.

Meanwhile, the state Election Commission has postponed the local body elections in West Bengal due to the spread of covid. Municipal elections scheduled for next Saturday in Asansol, Bidhan Nagar, Siliguri, and Chandan Nagar have been postponed to next month. The change was announced in a statement issued by the West Bengal Election Commission after discussions with state government representatives.
