Mahe: Education Minister A Namasivayam has said that all government and private schools in the state of Puducherry, including Mahe, have been closed indefinitely in the wake of the covid expansion. Schools in Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam will be closed from Monday. Online classes will continue in schools.
At the same time, the government said that there is no need to close schools in Kerala at present. Education Minister V Sivankutty said the government would consider the Omicron situation if it was evaluated and recommended by an expert panel.
