Non-banking financial institutions until 1 p.m

Kochi: Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFCs) in the state have been given permission to remain open from 10 am to 1 pm during the lockdown period, the Association of Non-Banking Finance Companies said in a press release.

Thomas George Muthoot, chairman of the association, said in a statement that the companies would adhere to strict code protocol and that the health and safety of their customers and employees was paramount.

He also urged the users to make the best use of the various digital services provided by almost all the leading NBFCs in Kerala. The back-end operations of the respective institutions will be geared towards the smooth functioning of the branches and digital services. Apps also offer loan repayment and loan top up. Various services can also be availed through call center and SMS.

The association will support the steps taken by the central and state governments to combat the spread of Covid.
