New Delhi: Disposable plastics will be banned in the country. The ban will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will start on January 1. The special committee headed by the central government has decided to ban single-use plastic waste in the wake of rising plastic pollution in the country.
It was also decided to stop the production of disposable plastic waste. The minimum quality of single-use polythene bags will be increased from 50 microns to 100 microns. This will be implemented by September 30.
