New Delhi: A Covid vaccine is expected to arrive in the country. Covovax, a joint venture between the world’s largest vaccine maker, the Serum Institute, and the US vaccine maker Novavax, is being tested in India. The Serum Institute asked the Drugs Controller General for permission to conduct a trial of Covovax. Meanwhile, Serum CEO Adar Punewala had said that Covovax would be launched by June.
Punevale said that clinical trials of Novavax have shown high efficacy. A trial in the UK found that the American company’s vaccine had an efficacy of 89.3.
