Thiruvananthapuram: For the first time in history, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has ordered the appointment of women as home guards in the fire and rescue service. Besides, 30% reservation for women was guaranteed for women.
Home guards deployed by the fire department and police are currently being deployed in disaster areas. The government has already implemented several schemes for the empowerment of women. The CM said that as part of that policy, it was decided to appoint women as home guards and introduce reservation.
