Thalassery: Nine BJP activists get life imprisonment for murdering CPI (M) worker in Kannur central jail KP Raveendran (48) of Vadakara Kallachi Kakkat Ambalakkulangara. The accused lynched the Ravindran to death. Thalassery Third Additional District Sessions Court has sentenced verdict. The court sentenced the first nine of the thirty accused to life imprisonment to life imprisonment and fined Rs. one lakh for the each accused.
Judge PN Vinod sentenced the accused to six months in jail if they were not fined. The accused are BJP RSS activists. The incident happened on April 6, 2004; at 4 pm. Raveendran was stabbed to death in the courtyard of block 7 in the jail.
