Chance of heavy rain at isolated places till Monday; Yellow alert at four places

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in the state till Monday. A yellow alert has been announced in various districts due to heavy rain.

A yellow alert has been announced in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts tomorrow and in Idukki, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts on Saturday. 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain is expected in 24 hours.

At the same time, the Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is no hindrance to fishing in the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts. Cyclone Mandus formed in the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone will make landfall over Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coast and the south Andhra Pradesh coast by midnight tomorrow. As part of this, heavy rains are possible for two days in various parts of Tamil Nadu, according to the warning.

A red alert has been declared in Thiruvallur, Chengalpet, and Kanchipuram districts. Chennai is on yellow alert. Because of rain, holidays have been announced in various districts today and tomorrow.
