Alappuzha: Health Minister Veena George has ordered an inquiry into the death of the baby and mother after childbirth at Alappuzha Medical College. The Minister directed the Director of the Medical Education Department to form an expert committee and conduct an investigation and submit a report.
Kainkari native Ramjith’s wife Aparna and child died in Alappuzha Medical college. Relatives allege that the cause of death was medical malpractice at the Alappuzha Medical College. Aparna died at five o’clock this morning. The child died last night.
Relatives have filed a complaint against the entire staff including the doctors who attended the labor room.
