The Supreme Court adjourned the petitions challenging the hijab ban

New Delhi: The Supreme Court adjourned the petitions challenging the hijab ban in Karnataka. After a ten-day long hearing, the case was adjourned for judgment.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court asked whether the hijab is a part of faith but does not violate uniform norms in educational institutions.

Meanwhile, the petitioners argued that the Karnataka government’s decision was malicious. The Karnataka government has also raised the argument that the Popular Front is behind the hijab protests. Karnataka High Court upholds ban on hijab in educational institutions. During the hearing, the Supreme Court also remarked that it was not right for the Karnataka High Court to enter into matters related to religious beliefs in this case.
