Air pollution; Fireworks ban to continue in Delhi

New Delhi: The ban on firecrackers in Delhi will continue this year as well. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has said that there will be a complete ban on the production, sale, and use of firecrackers on Diwali.

This restriction will continue till January 1, 2023.

The Delhi government has decided to continue the ban on firecrackers keeping the environment in mind. This time there will also be a ban on the online sale/distribution of crackers. An action plan will be prepared in collaboration with the Delhi Police, DPCC, and the Revenue Department to implement the ban strictly.

In another tweet, Gopal Rai said that a meeting was held with all the departments regarding the winter action plan. Around 30 departments have been tasked to prepare detailed plans on 15 focus points prepared by the government. The environment department has been instructed to take reports from all departments and prepare a detailed winter action plan by the 15th.
