New Delhi: India has developed the first indigenous vaccine to prevent cervical cancer. Serum Institute head Adar Punewala informed that this is an important achievement in Indian medical history.

Punewala also stated that the price of the vaccine will be between 200 rupees and 400 rupees. Studies show that the vaccine is 85 percent to 90 percent effective.

The vaccine is administered to girls aged 9 to 14 years. If this vaccine is injected, it is expected that the number of women who become cancer patients in India can be reduced in the next thirty years.
