According to reports from monitoring service DownDetector, a significant outage has hit users in the UK, US, and several other countries, including Canada, Australia, and Ireland.
Users have reported encountering error messages such as “Account Temporarily Unavailable,” alongside difficulties loading pages and failing to refresh their feeds. Data indicates that the technical glitches are primarily affecting the desktop version of the site, with some users noting that the mobile app continues to work sporadically.
The disruption has prompted frustrated users to flock to alternative social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the outage. While Meta has not yet released an official statement regarding the cause, the “site issue” message displayed to users suggests an internal technical fault. It remains unclear how long it will take for full service to be restored.
