Parliamentary elections continue in Australia. The polling held in Australia immediately after the death of former Labor minister Bob Hawk. The Liberal Party ruled for six years with the backing of coalition partners and the internal conflict. The Labor Party is seeking to recapture power. The Hawk’s popularity is likely to be favorable for the party. The first phase result will come out tonight.

The Liberal party leader and Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, is contesting in the capital-Sydney. Labor leader Bill Shorten is contesting in Melbourne. Survey says that both leaders are not popular.

Dubai: At least four people killed in a plane crash in Dubai airport. Three British citizens and a South African citizen died in the incident. Small passenger aircraft which can carry only four people, crashed near the airport. It is called diamond aircraft. A technical problem is the cause of the accident. Another flight services are temporarily suspended due to the accident.

Kathmandu: Mild earthquake in Nepal. Tremor recorded as 4.7 in Ritcher scale. The epicenter of the quake is in 66 km away from Kathmandu. No damages were reported in the quake.

At least 15 people were killed in the floods in Mali capital Bamako. Heavy rainfall was preceded by the monsoon. All the roads in the city were under water and there was widespread damage.

The heavy rains which started yesterday last morning lasted till 8 am. Ten people were killed after a bridge collapsed in the Niyamakaro. Reports said that heavy rains have caused serious damage and rescue operations are progressing, the Home Ministry said.
