Thiruvananthapuram: Yellow alert for four districts. Yellow Alert was announced in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts. Apart from these districts, there is a yellow alert in Palakkad, Idukki, Thrissur, and Malappuram tomorrow. According to the Central Meteorological Department, minor pressure is expected to develop in the Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours.

The fishermen in coastal areas of Kerala and Lakshadweep are also advised not to fishing as the wind speeds can reach up to 55 km / h.

Former Santosh Trophy player Elayilath Hamzakoya (61) died due to COVID. Hamzakoya, who was hospitalized with symptoms of COVID, had severe pneumonia and shortness of breath. Hamsakoya is the first person to die in Kerala after treatment with plasma therapy.

Hamsakoya hails from Parappanangadi in Malappuram and has lived in Maharashtra for a long time. He returned to Maharashtra with his family on May 21st. Hamzakoya has been subjected to plasma therapy since her condition deteriorated yesterday afternoon.

Hamzakoya’s daughter-in-law and two three-year-old children were diagnosed with the disease.

Kozhikode: Private buses operated from Lockdown will be suspended from Sunday. Owners say the bus service will be closed on Sunday from the state’s full lockdown.

Thiruvananthapuram: Seven persons, including her husband, have been arrested in connection with the gang-rape case of a woman. A case has been registered by the Kadinamkulam police. POCSO will also sue the defendants for assaulting the woman’s 5-year-old son. The Vanitha Commission has taken up the case voluntarily.

The arrest was made only after the victim’s statement. Police said they are investigating the role of the detainees and are yet to find one.

The woman lived in her husband’s home. At about 4 pm on Thursday, her husband drove the woman to a house in Puthukurichi. There, the husband and his friends were drinking. The girl was also raped after drinking alcohol.

The woman run out of the house. Strangers were passing in a vehicle rushed the woman to a local hospital.

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains are likely in the state till June 7, the Met Office said. Accordingly, the Yellow Alert was announced in the following days in different districts.
