Central approval for Ayurvedic doctors to perform surgeries

New Delhi: The Central Government has permitted Ayurvedic doctors to perform surgeries in the country. Permission is granted to perform general surgeries, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, and dentistry. Postgraduate students can practice these. To this end, the Central regulations Council of Medicine of 2016 amended. The curriculum for postgraduate students will include shalya (general surgery) and shalakya (ear, nose, and throat). There will be training in two streams on Shastrakia’s MS Shalya Tantra and MS Ayurveda Shalakya Tantra. Allow specialized Ayurvedic doctors to perform the surgery.

Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association has come out against the central government’s decision. The IMA said modern medicine should not be tied with traditional therapies such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy.

Governor Arif Mohammad Khan approved the police law amendment

Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has approved the amendment to the police law introduced by the Kerala government to prevent cyber attacks. The amendment is an addition to Section 118-A of the Police Act. The Department prohibits the production, publication, or dissemination of content through any means of exchange intended to intimidate, insult or defame any person.

It stipulates either imprisonment for up to five years or a fine of up to Rs 10,000 or both to those who produce, publish or disseminate content through any means of communication to intimidate, insult or defame any person through social media.

Expressing concern over the rising crime graph, fake propaganda, and hate speech on social media since the outbreak of COVID-19, the LDF government had said since cyber attacks are a major threat to private life, it has been decided to amend the Police Act as the existing legal provisions were inadequate to fight such crimes.

It said while the Supreme Court had repealed section 66-A of the IT Act and Section 118 (d) of the Kerala Police Act because these were against freedom of expression, the Centre has not introduced any other legal framework.

Farmers end the strike in Punjab; Train service will be resumed

Chandigarh: The farmers’ strike held against the center’s law has been called off. Protesters said they had decided to end the blockade so that trains could move smoothly. The decision was taken because of the problems faced by the people of Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has asked the Center to restore all train services. The Ministry of Railways has received notification from the Punjab government to resume freight and passenger train services.

Covid cases on the rise: Restrictions tightened in northern India

New Delhi: As part of the Deepavali celebrations and winter is upon us, the number of Covid cases in North India has increased. The central government has strengthened its preventive measures.

In Haryana, 3,104 cases were reported in the last one day.  2,762 new cases reported in Rajasthan.  According to reports 33 districts have been affected since the cases were reported in Rajasthan. Prohibition order declared in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Vidisha districts. Lockdown was imposed in Ahmedabad and Surat. Curfew imposed at Vadodara and Rajkot districts. Schools will not open in Maharashtra. The number of flight services from Delhi to Mumbai suites has been reduced. And the Delhi border has been closed and rapid tests for travelers in Noida and Ghaziabad also started.

Jawan martyred in Pak firing

Srinagar: An Indian jawan killed in Pakistani firing in Rajouri, Jammu, and Kashmir. The soldier was killed in a cross-border firing in the Rajouri district. Pakistan opened fire without provocation in the Nowshera sector around 1 pm yesterday.

 Havildar Patil Sangram Shivaji, who was injured in the shooting, later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, India has summoned Pakistan High Commission officials in connection with the shooting death of four Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorists in Nagaroda, Jammu, and Kashmir on Wednesday. The Ministry of External Affairs has strongly opposed any move to support terrorists and militant groups operating within Pakistan’s borders.

Four Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorists killed in encounter in Jammu

Srinagar: Security forces killed four Jaish-e-Muhammad militants in an encounter at Nargota Ban Toll Plaza in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack was carried out by terrorists who arrived in a truck. A policeman was injured in the clash. Security had been beefed up in strategic areas the following intelligence that terrorists were infiltrating under the guise of repeated ceasefire violations in Pakistan.

This was followed by a terrorist attack on a security team from a truck that arrived at Ban Toll Plaza around 5 am. Four terrorists were killed in a counter-attack by security officials. The encounter lasted for three hours. Police confirmed that Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were behind the attack. 11 AK-47 rifles were also seized. A policeman was injured. The Nargotta-Udhampur National Highway was closed following the clash. Joint security forces inspected the area.

The Jammu Zone IG said the attack was similar to the January 31 terror attack on the same toll plaza. Twelve villagers were injured in a grenade attack on a CRPF target in Pulwama, Srinagar yesterday. The bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of a police station.

Bihar education minister resigns Third day after taking the oath

Patna: Bihar Education Minister Mewalal Chaudhary has resigned. This is the third day since the Nitish Kumar government was sworn in that the minister has resigned following allegations of corruption. JD (U) leader Mewalal Chaudhary has been facing corruption charges since 2017.

In 2017, a case was registered against Mewalal Chaudhary, a JDU MLA from Tarapur. He was accused of irregularities in the appointments of assistant professors and junior scientists at the Bhagalpur Agricultural University. Mewalal was suspended from the party following protests by the BJP, which was in opposition at the time. But no charge sheet was filed against him.

Returning to the party, Mewalal contested and won the assembly elections and became the Minister of Education. The resignation of the minister came as protests by the opposition, including the RJD, intensified.

New low pressure in the Arabian Sea; State will receive heavy rain in coming hours

Thiruvananthapuram: The Met Office said that there is a possibility of more rain in the state on Thursday and Friday. The Central Met office informed that a new pressure formed in the central part of the southern Arabian Sea. New pressure is likely to intensify in the next 48 hours. Winds of up to 60 kmph are possible along the Kerala coast. Therefore, the department issued a warning that fishermen should not go to the sea for fishing.

Theaters in the state will not open soon

Thiruvananthapuram: The decision was taken not to open theaters in the state immediately. The decision was taken at a meeting of film organizations convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The film industry agreed with the suggestion that it would be better to postpone the decision in the current situation. The meeting was also attended by organizations such as Balan, Film Chamber, and the Producers’ Association.

Despite the central government’s permission to reopen the theaters, the closure continued in the state. In previous discussions with various organizations, it was agreed that theaters should not be opened for the time being.

NCB arrests Bineesh Kodiyeri in drug case

Bineesh Kodiyeri was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the Bangalore drug case. The arrest was made at the Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bangalore where Bineesh is currently lodged. In addition to the ED’s money laundering case, Bineesh has also been charged with drug offenses.

In August, the NCB registered a drug case against three people, including two Malayalees and a Kannada actress. The second accused in the case was Anoop Mohammad, a friend of Bineesh and a Malayalee. Anoop Mohammad had said that it was Bineesh who gave him financial help. After completing the formalities, Bineesh will be taken from jail to the NCB office for questioning.
