Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju said that the Department of Motor Vehicles has prepared a protocol for the journey of students during the covid period. Two-year tax exemption for school buses. The order will come down soon. The Transport Minister told the assembly that he had been directed to ensure the mechanical capacity of school vehicles.
The department has completed all the arrangements to be made before the opening of the school. Only 1622 school buses received fitness certificates. Travel will not be difficult as not all children will be able to attend school together. KSRTC will provide bond service for children wherever necessary. With the opening of the school, KSRTC will launch an additional 650 buses. The minister said strict action would be taken against private buses that do not carry children.

‘25% of the capacity of a bus will be reserved for students. Only two-thirds of students can get to school. They are currently provided with access to school. There is no basis for concern ‘,the Minister clarified.

Chennai: Widespread protests against Prithviraj, the actor who wanted the Mullaperiyar Dam to be demolished in Tamil Nadu. In the Theni district, the star’s portrait was burnt in front of the collectorate. Activists of the All India Forward Bloc protested.

It’s about time we put politics and economics aside and do what is right. We can only trust the system, and let’s pray that the system makes the right decision!” Prithviraj posted on FaceBook. 

Thiruvananthapuram: There is a possibility of heavy rain in the state even today. Yellow Alert has been declared in 12 districts. The yellow alert was issued in all the districts except Kannur and Kasaragod. The rainfall is heavy in connection with the lunar year. More rainfall is likely in hilly areas.

Caution should be exercised in areas that have received rain in the last few days due to thunder and strong winds. There is currently no restriction on fishing off the coast of Kerala. A cyclone is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal today. It is also likely to become low pressure within the next 48 hours. Yellow alert has been declared in 11 districts tomorrow.

Thiruvananthapuram: The main accused in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation tax fraud has been arrested. Former Superintendent of Nemom Zone Shanthi was arrested. Shanti had gone into hiding after being added to the list of accused.

Her anticipatory bail was rejected by the court. Shanti was arrested by a team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Forts. Earlier, the corporation had suspended seven officials, including Superintendent S Shanthi of Nemom zone.

So far, a scam of Rs 33 lakh has been detected. Of this, a scam of Rs. 27 lakh was also found in the Nemom zone. The money received from the public was stolen without being deposited in the corporation account.

Thiruvananthapuram: Former DGP Loknath Behra, who went to the house of Monson Mavungal, who was arrested in an antiquities fraud case, gave his statement. The investigation report will be submitted to the Crime Branch in the High Court on Tuesday in connection with the Monson case. The High Court had sought an answer as to the circumstances under which Monson Mavungal was granted protection. The police beatbox was set up in front of the house after Behra Monson visited the museum in Kaloor. This led to a great deal of controversy. The records show that the beatbox was set up at Monson’s rented house in Kaloor and his family home in Cherthala on the instructions of the police headquarters.
