Thiruvananthapuram. 94.95 crore was disbursed to KSRTC employees this month, including October salaries. Out of the Rs. 60 crore sanctioned by the government for salaries and Rs. 27.75 crore from the KSRTC fund, Rs. 87.75 crore was paid in salaries. In addition to this, Rs. 7.20 crore was paid from the KSRTC fund earlier this month as the last installment of the amount seized from government employees during the covid period.

Revenue for October was Rs. 113.77 crore. 106.25 crore from the operating segment and 4.40 crore from the non-operating segment. This amount was received from 3.12 crore people. At the same time, the expenditure for October was Rs. 270.78 crores.

87.75 crore for salaries and other allowances, Rs. 17 lakh for employees’ medical allowance, Rs. 70.51 crore for pension, Rs. 12.08 crore for arrears due in October, Rs. 69.19 crores for diesel and lubricants, a sum of Rs. 3.81 crore was paid for the salaries of the employees of the fuel pump.

Out of this `60 crore for salaries and` 70.51 crore for pensions plus `130.51 crore was provided by the Government.

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister K Krishnankutty said that it is wrong news that the electrical charge in the state will be increased by 10 percent. He said the board has not asked for a rate hike at present and the policy decision will be taken by the chief minister. The minister was responding to reports by some media outlets. Unexpectedly, there are rumors that the power tariff will be increased.

The minister said the government has not taken such a decision. Meanwhile, there has been talking of higher rates for use during peak hours from six to ten at night. Kochi: The investigation of the case of three persons including former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabir who died in a car accident will be handed over to a Special Team. Meanwhile, those who attended the night party at the hotel are being questioned in connection with the case. The interrogation is being held at the Palarivattom police station. Police yesterday arrested six people, including Roy Vayalatt, the owner of Hotel 18, for destroying a critical hard disk in the case. The five arrested are hotel employees.

The CCTV footage of the hotel on the night of the accident was destroyed by staff at Roy’s behest. Former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabir and two friends were killed in an accident near Vyttila on the Ernakulam bypass at around 1 am on November 1. While returning from an event in Fort Kochi, the car they were traveling in collided with a passing bike, overturned, and crashed into a tree.

The car was destroyed in the accident. Ansi Kabir and her friend Anjana Shajan died on the spot. Mohammad Aashiq and Abdul Rahman, who were in the car, were rushed to the hospital. Mohammad Ashiq, who was in critical condition, later died. The biker in the accident sustained only minor injuries. It was later revealed that the car involved in the accident was being chased by a group in another car and the accident occurred during a race.

Kollam: The investigation team has filed a charge sheet for the murder of a newborn baby boy in Kariyuvathukkal. The charge sheet is against mother Reshma. Reshma is the only accused in the case. There are 54 witnesses in the case, including Reshma’s husband Vishnu.

The 55-page charge sheet contains 20 pages of supporting documents. Reshma is facing charges of abandoning a newborn child, premeditated murder, and destruction of evidence.

Arya and Greeshma, two close relatives who were chatting with Reshma under the name Ananthu, committed suicide by jumping into the Ithikkara river.

Kochi: Another gold hunt at Nedumbassery airport. A Tamil Nadu native from Dubai was caught trying to smuggle two kilograms of gold. Gold worth over Rs. 80 lakh was seized. The gold was found during an investigation based on confidential information received by customs.

Two weeks ago, gold worth Rs. 2.5 crore was seized in Nedumbassery. Seven people were arrested with five and a half kilos of gold. The suspects were taken into custody during a search conducted by the Customs Preventive Unit.
