Andhra Pradesh cabinet was dissolved by Jaganmohan Reddy government

Hyderabad: Jaganmohan Reddy has dissolved the Andhra Pradesh cabinet ahead of the elections. The move comes ahead of assembly elections in 2024.

All the 24 ministers submitted their resignations to the Chief Minister. The new ministers will be decided soon, according to reports. The new cabinet will reportedly have representatives from the newly formed 26 districts.

On Wednesday evening, the Chief Minister had a meeting with Governor Bishwabhushan. The list of new ministers will be handed over to the governor.

The swearing-in of the new ministers is expected on Saturday or Monday, officials said.

Covid restrictions were lifted in the state

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid restrictions have been lifted in the state. The state government has ordered the lifting of the two-year restrictions as per the central directive.

The order states that the mask and social distance must be maintained. The order also says that the directive of the Union Ministry of Health to wear the mask will continue.

In the wake of the covid outbreak, many restrictions have been imposed in the state under the Disaster Management Act.

Thiruvananthapuram: The deadline for payment of tax-free tax on contract carriages in the first quarter of this financial year has been extended to June 30.

Transport Minister Antony Raju has ordered an extension of the date because of the crisis facing the contract carriage sector due to rising fuel prices and the expansion of covid. Currently, the deadline for paying taxes is April 14.

Salary increase for railway employees

New Delhi: The Central government has announced a pay hike to provide relief to railway employees.

Their salaries will increase this month. The government has already issued an order for this. Following the increase in the shortage of staff by the Central Government, the Ministry of Railways has issued a special directive to provide this allowance to all its zones. In this regard, the Ministry issued an order. As per the order issued by the Ministry, the famine relief will be given along with the revised rates in force.

The decision by Railways will directly benefit about 14 lakh employees and pensioners. In any case, these payments will be made by the end of this month. The Railway Board issued the order. Railway Board Deputy Director (pay commission-VII, HAMS) Jayakumar has written to all zones and production units in this regard. The letter said the arrears for railway employees would be increased from 31 per cent to 34 percent of the current base rate from January 1, 2022.

The base salary in the revised salary structure refers to the salary received at a fixed level in the pay matrix as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission approved by the Government. This does not include any other type of salary such as a special salary. All India Railways Federation General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra told media persons that the Dearness Allowance will be paid on April 30, 2022. Apart from this, Gopal Mishra said that the famine relief will be paid on April 30 along with the arrears.

New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha has passed the controversial Criminal Procedure (Identification Amendment) Bill 2022. The law allows investigators to collect biometric information about offenders. The House passed the bill unanimously, rejecting the opposition’s demand that the bill be left to the selection committee. The bill was also passed in the Lok Sabha yesterday.

It is a law that allows police to collect biological information, including criminals’ fingerprints, footprints, photos, eyes, and DNA. Investigating officers can collect evidence about the offenders as per Sections 53 and 53A of the CRPC Act along with handwriting and signature without the permission of the court.

These can be stored for up to 75 years from the date of collection of biometric data. The central government claims that the new law will enable the police to include comprehensive information on criminals in their database and expedite investigations.

Actor Srinivasan hospitalized

Kochi: Actor and director Sreenivasan have been admitted to hospital. The actor has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Angamaly Apollo Adluxe Hospital due to heart disease.
Srinivasan was admitted to the hospital on March 30 with chest pain. Angiogram revealed triple vessel disease (obstruction of arterial blood flow). He underwent bypass surgery on Thursday, March 31.
Hospital officials said there was a slight improvement in Srinivasan’s health and he is responding to medicines.

Following the instruction, Palakkad-R. T. O. N. Thankaraj has suspended the driving licenses of the bus drivers T. Senthil Kumar and A Taufeeq and the conductor licenses of the conductors Saravanan R. and Najeeb. K. P.
The license was suspended for three months.
The Minister was directed to take strict action to revoke the vehicle permit and cancel the license permanently. The minister said strong action would be taken against other buses that had driven dangerously like this.

Medical certificate required for driving license now online; Minister Antony Raju

Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju has said that a new system has been set up for doctors to upload their own medical certificates required to obtain and renew their driving licenses online.

For this, registration facility will be provided to the approved doctors on the ‘Sarathi’ portal of the Department of Motor Vehicles. Registered doctors can examine the applicants and submit the medical certificate online.

This system will ensure the authenticity of medical certificates and the complete elimination of forged certificates. This will also avoid any inconvenience to the public in uploading paper medical certificates. He said the system was part of the drive to bring the entire services of the Department of Motor Vehicles online.
