Kozhikode: Elathur train attack case accused Shahrukh Saifee has come to Kerala for the first time, ADGP M. R. Ajith Kumar. The ADGP said that he has understood everything from Delhi to Kerala, reached Kannur after committing the crime and was caught in Ratnagiri, and has collected all the evidence in this regard. He came to Kerala with the intention of doing something like this.

Can’t intervene in Arikomban issue: Supreme Court rejects state government’s plea

Delhi: The Supreme Court rejected the state government’s petition on the Arikomban issue. The Supreme Court clarified that it cannot interfere in the matter. Kerala filed an appeal in the Supreme Court stating that the High Court’s directive to shift Arikompan to Parambikulam was impractical.

The state government has asked the Supreme Court that the High Court’s intervention in the issue of Arikomban, a wild animal that is causing havoc in Chinnakanal, is a threat to the lives and property of the people and that all the orders issued by the High Court should be stayed in this regard. The High Court had said that it was the responsibility of the government to find a place to relocate the elephant in case of protests in Parambikulam against the relocation of the rice elephant.

However, the Supreme Court clarified that the expert committee, which includes the state government officials, had given the instruction to shift the paddy field to Parampikulam, so it cannot interfere in the matter. The Supreme Court also observed that the decision of the expert committee was logical. The bench headed by Chief Justice D  Y Chandrachud rejected the petition.

Thiruvananthapuram: The trial run of Kerala vande bharath train has been completed. The trial run started from Thiruvananthapuram. The train left Thiruvananthapuram at 5.10 and reached Kannur at 12.20. The travel time was 7 hours and 10 minutes.

The trial run started after reaching Thiruvananthapuram from Kochuveli yard in the morning. The train reached Kollam at 6 am and reached Kottayam at 7.28 am. It took 2 hours and 10 minutes to reach Kottayam. It took 3 hours and 18 minutes to reach Ernakulam. Ernakulam followed at 8.28, Thrissur at 9.37 and Tirur at 10.46. After 6 hours and 7 minutes, the train reached Kozhikode at around 11.17.

Various officials of the Thiruvananthapuram Division of Railways were present in the train. The speed and safety of the train will be evaluated during the trial run. The timing will be decided after the test run. The stop and ticket price will also be decided. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Kerala’s Vande Bharat on April 25.

Increase in active cases of covid in the country; More in Kerala

New Delhi: There is an increase in the number of covid in the country today. In the last 24 hours, 9,111 people have been confirmed to be infected. With this, the number of active cases has increased to 60,3138.40.

The daily positivity rate is 8.40 percent. A weekly positivity rate of 4.94 percent was reported. Including 27 deaths in the last 24 hours, the total death toll has crossed 5 lakh.

Meanwhile, Kerala reports the highest number of Covid cases in the country. According to the figures released this morning, 19,898 active cases have been reported in Kerala. And it is reassuring that the cure rate is 98.68 percent.

Delhi’s Shreya Poonja was second and Manipur’s Thaunojam Strela Luang was third. 19-year-old Nandini hails from Kota, Rajasthan. Graduated in Business Management. Last year’s Miss India Sini Shetty crowned Nandini. Nandini will represent India in this year’s Miss World pageant.

30 contestants participated in the competition which was held at the indoor stadium at Khuman Lampak, Imphal, Manipur. Many people including Bollywood stars came to watch the finale. Neha Dhupia, the Miss India Universe of 2002, Indian boxing star Leisharam Sarita Devi, famous choreographer Terence Lewis, filmmaker and writer Harshavardhan Kulkarni, and fashion designers Rocky Star and Namrata Joshipura were on the panel of judges.

Rain with thunder and lightning is likely in Kerala till Thursday

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in the state till Thursday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has advised fishermen and coastal residents to be alert as there is a possibility of 0.5 to 1-meter high waves and storm surge in Kerala till midnight on Monday.

Protest at CBI headquarters, AAP leaders detained

Dubai: Sixteen people, including two Malayalis, died in a massive fire in Deira Naif, Dubai. The deceased Malayalees are Kalangadan Rijesh and his wife Jishi, a native of Vengara, Malappuram. The fire broke out in another room adjacent to their room. The initial conclusion is that Rijesh and Jishi died due to smoke inhalation.

Two Tamil Nadu nationals, Pakistani and Nigerian nationals have died. The fire broke out on Saturday afternoon. The initial conclusion is that short circuit is the cause.
