Khartum: 56 people including a Malayali died in the Sudan civil war. Albert Augustine, a native of Kannur Alakot, died. He was 48 years old. He was working as security manager of Dal Group. More than 600 people were injured. Flight services have been suspended due to severe air strikes. A Saudi plane was shot down while taking off from Khartoum airport.

Clashes between the military and paramilitary groups in Sudan erupted yesterday. The conflict has intensified in the capital, Khartoum. There are also reports that it is spreading to more areas.

According to the Indian Embassy, there are about 4,000 Indians in Sudan. Embassy officials informed that they are assessing the situation. Residents of Khartoum have been advised to stay indoors as the conflict escalates.
