Green protocol will be implemented in hospitals: Minister Veena George

 Health Minister Veena George has said that a project has been planned to minimize the use of plastic by implementing green protocol in health institutions.  The Department of Health has already initiated activities and special programs aimed at making all health facilities eco-friendly.  As part of this, special attention will be given to waste management, energy conservation and environment-friendly construction activities in health institutions, the minister said.  The minister made this clear in his World Environment Day message.

 June 5 is observed as World Environment Day to bring the importance and necessity of environment protection to the people.  This year’s World Environment Day message aims to seek and implement solutions to plastic pollution and create awareness through the #BeatPlasticPollution campaign.

Another earthquake in Afghanistan

 Earthquake in Afghanistan.  The magnitude was 4.2 on the Richter scale.  The epicenter of the earthquake was 149 km northeast of the country’s capital, Kabul.

 The earthquake was felt in the evening Indian time.  The National Center for Seismology said that the earthquake was felt at a distance of 10 km.

 An earthquake is felt in Afghanistan every two to three weeks.  On May 11, there was a 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan.  A 4.3 magnitude earthquake was also reported on May 9.  Both of these were experienced in Faizabad.

 Last year alone, more than 1000 people died and around 2000 people were injured in natural disasters in the country.

Odisha train accident: Death toll rises to 288

Bhubaneswar: Death toll in Odisha train derailment rises to 288.1091 people were injured.  56 of them are in critical condition.  The dead body could not be completely removed from the bogies.  The rescue operation is still going on.

 According to the preliminary report, the cause of the accident is signaling failure.  The railway authorities informed that the process has started to restore the traffic.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ashwani Vaishnav, Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnadik, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and others reached the accident site and assessed the situation.  After that he visited those under treatment.

 An ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each has been announced for the families of the deceased.  Those undergoing treatment with serious injuries will be given Rs 2 lakh and others Rs 50,000 each.  Several trains were canceled due to the accident.  The accident took place near Bazar station in Balasore district.

 The Coromandel Express bound for Chennai Central collided with the Bengaluru-Howrah Super Fast Express which derailed and overturned on the track.  The impact of the disaster was felt when the goods train that came through another track crashed into it.  This is one of the worst train accidents in the country in recent times.

Assam native arrested with 30 grams of heroin

Kochi: Assam native arrested with heroin.  Mirajul Haq, a native of Assam, was arrested with 30 grams of heroin.

 Heroin worth Rs 1 lakh was seized.  The accused got off at Aluva railway station and was caught by the police on his way to Paravur.

Odisha Train Accident; Death 280; 900 injured: rescue mission complete; PM to Odisha

Balasore (Odisha) ∙ Death toll rises to 280 in Balasore train accident in Odisha. More than 900 people were injured.The rescue mission is complete. The Railways has informed that steps have been taken to restore traffic.The high-level meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister will visit the accident site.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. However, initial reports suggest that the goods train derailed due to a technical fault. The Indian Railways has ordered a high-level inquiry into the accident.

Mammootty’s Bazooka First Look Poster Out!

The first look poster of Mammootty’s upcoming movie Bazooka was released on Friday, June 2, 2023. The poster features Mammootty in a stylish avatar, he is standing near a bullet bike. The poster has been receiving positive reactions from fans and critics alike.

Bazooka is written and directed by Deeno, the son of veteran writer Kaloor Dennis.The film also stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Shine Tom Chacko, and Gayathri Iyer in important roles.

The movie produced by Yoodlee Films, the film studio arm of Saregama India Limited and is co-produced by Theatre of Dreams

The technical crew of Bazooka includes Nimish Ravi as cinematographer, Nishadh Yusuf as editor, and Midhun Mukundan as music composer. The film is currently in the post-production stage and is expected to be released in the second half of 2023.

With the release of the first look poster, the excitement for Bazooka has reached a fever pitch. Fans and critics alike are eagerly awaiting the release of this much-anticipated film.

Franco Mulakkal has resigned as Bishop of Jalandhar

Franco Mulakkal resigned from the post of Bishop of Jalandhar.  Franco’s resignation was accepted by the Pope.  The Vatican ambassador in India said that this is not a disciplinary action.  Earlier, the court had acquitted Franco Mulakkal in the case of torturing a nun.  Franco will now be known as Bishop Emeritus.  Franco Mulakkal said that the resignation is for the good of the Jalandhar Diocese and to appoint a new bishop.  

 Franco was earlier arrested in the case of torturing a nun.  The nun complained that Franco, who was the bishop of Jalandhar, raped her 13 times from 2014 to 2016.  The Kumilangad police registered a case against Bishop Franco on a complaint filed by a nun who is a member of the Missionaries of Jesus Sanyas Church and an inmate of St. Francis Mission Home in Kumilangad.

 Earlier in September 2018, Pope Francis had temporarily removed the bishop from the duties of the diocese after he was accused in the rape case.  The resignation comes while the appeal court is considering the acquittal of the accused Franco Mulakkal in the case of raping a nun by the Kottayam Additional Sessions Court.

Fake news that Plus Two result has been withdrawn;  Education Department by taking legal action

Thiruvananthapuram: The education department has taken legal action against false news that the Plus 2 result has been withdrawn.  Education Minister V. Shivankutty informed about this through Facebook.  The minister wrote on Facebook that he has lodged a complaint with the DGP against the fake news.

 After the release of the Plus Two results last day, the YouTube channel ‘We Can Media’ gave fake news to defame the Education Department and the Minister.  The YouTube channel reported that the plus two result was withdrawn and the Minister V Sivankutty said that it was a mistake.  The education department approached the DGP with a complaint against this.

Widespread rain is likely in the state for the next five days

Thiruvananthapuram: The Meteorological Center has warned that there is a possibility of widespread rain along with thunder and wind in the state for the next five days.  According to the Central Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places from May 27 to 29.  Yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Idukki districts on Saturday.  Central Meteorological Department has informed that you should not go fishing in Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.
