The Pulpally police have arrested two people in the case of attacking a forest department vehicle during the protest in Pulpally in connection with the death of Paul, a native of Pakkam, in the attack of a katana. The arrests of Kanjirathingal Shiju and Pulpally coffee set resident Vasu were recorded. A case has been registered under various sections for obstructing the execution of duties by arresting and beating the government employee and destroying public property.
At the same time, the case is against forty people who are known to have been seen in this incident. The police are extensively examining the CCTV footage of the area and other related to the Pulpally incident. There are indications that more people who are part of the violence will be arrested soon.
Department of Motor Vehicles to make online application for International Driving Licenses. The reforms are being brought in to streamline the process so that it can be completed online. Those whose passports have not expired can apply.
All you need to do is to upload the proof of Indian citizenship, current driving license and passport online. Payment will also be made online. The application should be submitted through the Sarathi website at the office under the jurisdiction of the registering authority to which the license has been issued.
If passport, driving license, father’s name and date of birth are same then license will be granted. But there is no requirement that the address on the license and passport should be the same. Officials have been instructed not to ask the applicant to appear in person at the RT office for the interview for license permit. Foreigners can also apply for a license without coming to the office.
Applicants like this should upload the information and address of the nominee in the state, a copy of the identity card and the applicant’s affidavit while applying for the international license. Such measures are part of the government’s policy to make services fully available online.
Thiruvananthapuram: The central weather department has warned that the state will be hot today and tomorrow. Yellow alert has been announced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts.
Kozhikode may rise to 37 degrees and Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur may rise to 36 degrees. The Central Department of Climate has warned that people should be cautious and avoid direct sunlight between noon and 3 p.m.
Mananthavadi: UDF announced hartal on today in Wayanad. The hartal was announced after one more person died in a wild elephant attack within a week.
The UDF leadership informed that the hartal will be observed from 6 am to 6 pm. Along with the UDF, the LDF has announced a hartal. The LDF hartal has demanded that three people were killed in the wild animal attack and that the central and state governments should intervene urgently.
Paul (55), an employee of the Kurua Island Tourist Center who was injured in the wild elephant attack, died. The death occurred at Kozhikode Medical College. Katana attacked at Cherimala junction around 9:30 in the morning.
Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court rejects Exalogic’s plea to quash SFIO probe. With this, the investigation conducted by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) in the financial transaction with the private black sand company CMRL can continue. Justice Nagaprasanna’s order pointed out that there was no reason to interfere in the investigation.
Exalogic had argued in court that the SFIO inquiry would not stand. Exalogic maintained that the Registrar of Companies is continuing its investigation under Rule 210 of the Companies Act and is cooperating with it. Meanwhile, Exalogic’s lawyer argued that the order announcing the investigation by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office under Rule 212 of the same Act is invalid. However, the central government has clarified that the investigation of the Registrar of Companies has ceased after the SFIO investigation began.
Thiruvananthapuram: The SSLC Model Exams will begin on February 19 and end on February 27. The exam timings are from 9.45 am to 11.30 am and from 2 pm to 3.45 pm.
SSLC public exam will start on March 4 and end on March 25. The exam starts from 9.30 am. Higher Secondary 1st and 2nd Year Model Examinations started on February 15. These exams will end on February 21. Higher Secondary 1st and 2nd Year Public Examinations will begin on March 1 and end on March 26. Higher Secondary Examinations will start from 9.30 AM onwards.
Theater owners’ association FEUOK has warned that the films will not be screened as they are violating agreements including releasing the films in OTT.
FEUOK clarified that Malayalam films will not be screened from 22nd of this month. The problems faced by the theater owners should be resolved. Producers should find a solution for issues including OTT release and movie agreements. The agreement is that the OTT release will be allowed only after 40 days of the film’s release. But this is continuously violated. FEUOK has warned that if these problems are not resolved, Malayalam films will not be screened in theaters from 22nd.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued a decisive verdict invalidating the electoral bond. Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud opined that it is unconstitutional to keep information about funds secret in the election bond scheme introduced by the central government to donate to political parties.
A 5-member bench headed by the Chief Justice ruled that the people have the right to know the details of the funds received by the political parties.
The court directed SBI to provide the information. Electoral bond scheme is to buy electoral bonds from a recognized bank and donate them to political parties. The bonds received can be converted into cash by the party within 15 days.
The receiving political party will know who the donors are through the bonds. Meanwhile, other parties do not know. The Center had argued that this confidentiality was intended by the donors and that the scheme was devised keeping in mind practicality. But these arguments were rejected by the Supreme Court. Bonds have been issued since 2018.
