Chance of heavy rain in the state today;  Yellow alert in seven districts

 The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state today.  Yellow alert has been declared in seven districts.  Fishing ban will continue in Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.  People in the coastal hilly areas are advised to be cautious.

 Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts have been warned of heavy rain.  According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are continuing in the state due to the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Maratha Wada.  There is a chance of strong winds along with thundershowers at isolated places.

 Wind gusts of up to 40 kilometers per hour are possible and people in mountainous and coastal areas are advised to be cautious.  Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts have been banned from fishing due to high waves and sea storms on Kerala coast and south Tamil Nadu coast.

Flat caught fire in Kuwait;  41 people are reported dead

 41 people reportedly died in a flat fire in Kuwait.  It is reported that many people have been injured.  A fire broke out in Mankef Block 4 at around 4 am in the flat where the employees of the company owned by non-resident Malayali lived.  The fire started at four in the morning and spread in the building.  Many people including Malayalees live in the camp.

 Those who jumped from the building after the fire broke out were seriously injured.  They have been admitted in Adan, Jabair and Mubarak hospitals.  The death toll is expected to rise.  The fire has been brought under control.  A major accident was avoided as the fire did not spread nearby.  The fire brigade and the police are taking the injured to the hospital.

Clash in Kashmir;  CRPF jawan martyred, a terrorist killed

 Srinagar: CRPF jawan martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kashmir’s Katwa district.  One of the terrorists who infiltrated was also killed.  The incident happened on Tuesday night.

 2 terrorists came to a house in Katwa on the pretense of belonging to the neighborhood.  Then security forces and terrorists clashed.  During this, a jawan named Kabir Das was killed.

 Kabir was admitted to the hospital but died during treatment.  After killing one of the terrorists, the security forces are on the lookout for the second terrorist.

New Delhi: Departments of ministers in the third NDA government have been announced.  Amit Shah as Home Minister and Rajnath Singh as Defense Minister.  Jaishankar will continue as External Affairs Minister and Nitin Gadkari as Transport Minister.  The decision in the departments was made in the first cabinet meeting of the NDA government.  Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who will be a member of the Union Cabinet for the first time, will handle the Department of Agriculture and Rural Immigration.

 Hardeep Puri- Petroleum, JP  Nadda- Health, Manohar Lal Khattar- Energy, Urban Development, Ram Mohan Naidu- Aviation, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat- Tourism, Culture, Kiren Rijiju- Parliamentary Affairs, Minority Welfare, Piyush Goyal- Commerce, Ashwini Vaishnav- Railways, Communications, Prahlad Joshi  – Department of Food, Kumaraswamy- Steel and Mining, Jitan Ram Manchi- Small and Medium Industries and Jyotiraditya Scindia- Telecom will be handled.

Actress Noor Malabika Das was found dead in her flat in Mumbai

Mumbai: Actress Noor Malabika Das, famous for her web shows, was found dead in her flat in Mumbai. In prima facie it is suicide. The dead body of the actress was found after the neighbors informed the police about the stench coming from the flat.  Malabika, a former air hostess of Qatar Airways, hails from Assam.

 The 37-year-old actress lived in Lokhandwala, Mumbai.  Malavika was a co-star in Kajol’s film ‘The Trial’.

 Medicines and mobile phones were recovered from the flat.  The body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem

Panthirangavu domestic violence case; The woman withdrew the complaint against her husband

Kozhikode: Big twist in Pantheerangavu domestic violence case.  The complainant, the bride, withdrew from the case.  The woman apologized for the allegations leveled against Rahul, saying that no one had beaten her and that she was guilty of the allegations.  In the video, the woman says that Rahul had said that the marriage had been registered earlier and everything he told the media and the police was a lie.

 The woman’s statement is being changed while efforts are being made by the CBI to bring back Rahul, who is accused in the case.  The young woman shared the video apologizing through social media.

Ghatkopar advertisement board accident: Accused in crime branch custody till June 15

 Mumbai: The court remanded the accused in crime branch custody till June 15 in the case of the death of 17 people after the advertisement board collapsed in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area.  Jahnavi Marathe, the former director of the advertising firm, and Sagar Patil have been remanded in custody for further investigation.

 Four people have been arrested so far in connection with the hoarding falling down at a petrol pump in Ghatkopar on May 13.  Both were arrested by Crime Branch from Goa.

 According to the SIT, Marathe was the director of Ego Media Pvt Ltd from its inception in 2020 till December 2023, after which prime accused Bhavesh Bhinde took over as director.

Modi government was sworn in for third term

The third Modi government was sworn in and assumed power. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Narendra Modi in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. After Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda and others were also sworn in. Reports say that the third Modi government has a 72-member cabinet.

 The swearing-in ceremony of the third NDA government also saw a high foreign representation. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Maldives President Mohammad Muisu, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnath, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal have also been invited. World leaders including US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin have extended their greetings. Actors Rajinikanth and Mohanlal have also been invited.

 Around 2500 police and paramilitary units have been deployed near the venue. In Delhi, there will be restrictions on airspace from 3 pm to 11 pm. Around a thousand people like religious priests, lawyers, doctors, artists, cultural workers and beneficiaries of central government schemes came to witness the oath-taking ceremony.
