Mumbai: Special trains have been announced from Mumbai to Kerala to reduce congestion during the Christmas-Newer season. A special weekly train has been announced from Mumbai LTT to Kochu Veli. The train journey from Mumbai LTT to Kochu Veli will start at 4 pm on December 19, 26, January 2 and 9.
There are trains from Kochu Veli to Mumbai on December 21, 28, January 4 and 11 at 4.20 pm. The train service reaches Thiruvananthapuram Kochu Veli via Kottayam.
New Delhi: The system of withdrawing EPF deposits through ATMs will come into effect in January. This was announced by Union Labor Secretary Sumita Davra. The Ministry of Labor had earlier announced that as part of the EPFO 3.0 project, the EPF will be given a debit card-style card. This was planned to be implemented by next May-June. However, yesterday’s announcement that the model will be implemented in January itself.
PF users, dependents etc can receive money through an ATM. Mechanisms are being improved to make EPF user friendly. Davra said that you will know it every three months.
There are more than 7 crore users in EPF in the country. Currently it takes 7-10 days to transfer money from an EPF account to a bank account.
The High Court has cancelled the bail of four accused in the SDPI leader Shan murder case. The bail of 4 RSS-BJP activists who directly participated in the crime was cancelled.
The High Court refused to interfere with the Sessions Court order granting bail to the other five accused in the case. The High Court’s action is in response to an appeal filed by the government against the Sessions Court order granting bail to the accused.
The prosecution had earlier approached the court, claiming that the accused were granted bail in violation of the rules. However, the application to cancel the bail was rejected by Alappuzha Additional Sessions Court Judge Roy Varghese. The High Court was approached later.
On December 18, 2021, Shan was killed by a gang of five after he was hit by a car coming from behind while he was riding a scooter from Kuppezham junction on the Mannacherry-Ponnad road.
Meanwhile, in retaliation for Shan’s murder, all the accused in the murder case of BJP leader Ranjith Srinivasan were sentenced to death collectively. The trial of Shan’s murder has not yet begun.

Sriharikota: ISRO’s PSLV C59/ Proba 3 mission in orbit as proof of technical excellence in launch and satellite deployment. ISRO’s reliable rocket PSLV yesterday put into orbit two satellites created by the European Space Agency to study the outer corona of the Sun. With this, ISRO has set a new milestone in international cooperation in space exploration.
The PSLV lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota at 4.04 pm on Thursday and placed the satellites in the fixed orbit after 18 minutes. Within seconds, the message from the satellite reached the center in Australia. The European Space Agency said that the main communication will be with the center in Belgium and thanks ISRO. The launch, which was scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed to yesterday due to technical problems with the spacecraft. India’s first solar probe, Aditya L1, had yesterday transmitted important information about the coronavirus.
The Proba 3 mission consists of the Occulter and Coronagraph satellites. Both satellites together weigh 550 kg. The mission is to create an artificial solar eclipse by placing one probe in front of the other, since solar eclipses are the best time to study the corona. The larger satellite, the occulter, will be positioned 150 meters ahead of the corona graph. The European Space Agency says that the coronagraph will get a clearer view of the Sun’s corona through the shadow created by this. The solar wind that disrupts Earth’s communication systems is caused by the corona.
ISRO Chairman S Somnath said that the spacecraft will travel in a semi-circular orbit with apogee (minimum distance from Earth) of 600 km and perigee (maximum distance from Earth) of 60,000 km. D Radhakrishnan, chairman and MD of NSIL, ISRO’s commercial arm, said that this is the first time that PSLV has launched a satellite into a semi-circular orbit at such a distance.
