Death of NM Vijayan: Case left to Crime Branch

Kalpetta: Crime Branch has been appointed to investigate the suicide of Wayanad DCC Treasurer N M Vijayan. The crime branch will investigate all three fraud cases.

The crime branch will investigate the cases filed by Patros Talur, Sayuj and Shaji. IC Balakrishnan, ND Appachan and KK Gopinathan are the accused in the suicide incitement case.

MLA IC Balakrishnan’s lawyer demanded a proper investigation into the suicide note. Some lines are cut off. 10 more people in custody in case of rape of Dalit girl in Pathanamthitta. More arrests are likely today. Yesterday, 5 accused were arrested and produced in court and remanded. The case is that the 18-year-old girl was sexually exploited by 62 people over a period of five years.

Four people were arrested yesterday in the case. Subin, Sandeep, Vineeth and Ananthu, natives of Prakanam, were arrested. The fifth accused Sudhi is in jail in another POCSO case. His arrest will also be recorded today.

The two-year-old abuse information came out during CWC’s home visit program. The girl is now 18 years old. The police got two years of abuse information through CWC.

POCSO will be charged against the accused as the sexual exploitation took place before the age of majority. A POCSO case has been filed against 40 people based on the disclosure made by the girl before the Child Welfare Committee.

Kochi: High Court rejects Bobby Chemmanur’s bail plea in sexual assault case. The High Court said that the plea will be heard on Tuesday and that this case has no consideration that the common man does not have.

“Be careful when making comments in public. No consideration can be given to this case which is not common to ordinary people. The court also asked under what circumstances the case should be considered urgently.

Bobby Chemmanur filed a bail application in the High Court after the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court denied him bail. Bobby should remain in Chemmanur jail till Tuesday as the petition is not considered. Magistrate court has remanded Bobby Chemmanur for 14 days.

Suicide of Wayanad DCC Treasurer; Court orders not to arrest Congress leaders till January 15

Kalpatta: The court has verbally ordered not to arrest the Congress leaders involved in the death of Wayanad DCC treasurer N M Vijayan and his son till January 15. The recommendation is from the Wayanad Principal Sessions Court. The court’s recommendation is considering the anticipatory bail plea of DCC President ND Appachan and IC Balakrishnan MLA.

The court gave an order against this while thinking that an arrest may be made at any time in the case. The court asked the police to produce the case diary on January 15. It is suggested not to arrest till then.

After the release of the suicide note, NM Vijayan’s family had released the letter written to the KPCC leadership. The charges of incitement to suicide have been filed in the names of the leaders who are said to have made financial transactions in this.
