Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner to India, said on Twitter that passengers taking covaxin do not need quarantine in the UK. The changes will take effect on November 22 at 4 p.m.
However, there will be a waiver on the Covid check before departure. There will also be a discount on the eighth-day test and quarantine. Earlier this month, Covaxin was approved by the World Health Organization. The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that covaxin is 70 percent effective against the Delta variety. Switzerland had earlier approved Covaxin. In addition to Covaxin, the UK has also approved Chinese Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines.
