Islamabad: Shahbaz Sharif has been sworn in as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan. Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjharani administered the oath of office. The Senate chairman was sworn in because President Arif Alvi was on leave.
Shahbaz Sharif was elected hours after the resignation of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other party members from the National Assembly. Shahbaz Sharif came to power with the support of 174 people in a no-confidence vote.
