Rio de Janeiro: Supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro rioted in Brazil. The Supreme Court and the President’s Palace were attacked.
Thousands of far-right supporters took to the streets with violence.
The Parliament building was also attacked. The army was deployed to fight the attackers. Brazilian President Lula da Silva said that it was a fascist attack on the country. Silva said that strict action will be taken against the attackers.
Left-wing leader Lula da Silva took office as president on January 1. But former President Bolsonaro has accused the election of irregularities. Bolsonaro, who lost the presidential election, left the country without waiting for the transfer of power.
