Passenger flights from India and Pakistan banned in Canada

Air India

Ottawa: The Canadian government has suspended passenger flights from India and Pakistan. The move comes in the wake of an increase in reports of Covid cases among passengers arriving from both countries.
Transport Minister Omar Al-Ghabra told a news conference in Algabro that all commercial and private flights from these countries to Canada had been suspended for 30 days due to the high number of Covid cases among passengers arriving in Canada from India and Pakistan.

He added that this was a temporary measure but at the same time the situation would be assessed and appropriate action would be taken. At the same time, the ban came into effect on Thursday night. But the ban does not apply to cargo planes. In particular, Algebra said it would ensure exports of vaccines, personal protective equipment, and other essentials.
