Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Pakistan has tested a ballistic missile. Pakistan claims to have successfully test-fired a surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a range of 450 km on Saturday.
The missile, known as the Abdali Weapon System, was tested as part of a military exercise called ‘Exercise Indus’, Pakistani media reported. The exercise launch was witnessed by Army Strategic Forces Command Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Shahbaz Khan and PDS DG Strategic Plans Division Major General Shehryar Pervez Butt.
The test at Sonmiani Ranges is likely to be part of an operational user trial conducted under the Army Strategic Forces Command (ASFC), which handles Pakistan’s nuclear-capable missiles. Pakistan’s missile test comes amid India’s tightening of its grip on Pakistan.
