New Delhi – The execution of Nimisha Priya, a Malayali nurse imprisoned in Yemen for the alleged murder of a Yemeni national, has been postponed. This was reported by the Save Nimisha Priya Action Council. The Indian government has confirmed the development. Talks regarding her release also continued on Tuesday.
The execution was originally scheduled for Wednesday. However, reports indicate that the family of Talal Abdu Mahdi, the victim, is willing to grant a pardon upon receiving diyah (blood money). This decision will be communicated to the Sanaa court.
