KOLLAM: Notable Malayalam actor and director E.A. Rajendran passed away on Wednesday at the age of 71. He breathed his last at his residence in Pattathanam, Kollam.
He had been undergoing treatment for age-related ailments for some time. Rajendran was the husband of Sandhya Rajendran and the brother-in-law of popular actor and MLA Mukesh.
Beginning his artistic journey through theatre, Rajendran later transitioned into films, where he portrayed several memorable characters. In addition to acting, he also made significant contributions as a director.
A native of Thrithallur in Thrissur district, his final rites and cremation are scheduled to take place at his hometown tomorrow. Prominent figures from the Malayalam film industry and cultural spheres have expressed their deep condolences over his demise.
