New Delhi: Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to a 48-hour ceasefire following intense border clashes that claimed more than 12 lives. Pakistan stated that it accepted the ceasefire at Afghanistan’s request. Islamabad emphasized that both nations must make sincere efforts to resolve the ongoing dispute.
According to Pakistan, 12 Afghan soldiers and militants were killed during a nighttime strike that also destroyed several military posts and tanks. Afghanistan, however, accused Pakistan of injuring hundreds of civilians in the attack — a claim Islamabad has denied.
