OTP Made Mandatory for Tatkal Train Ticket Booking

New Delhi: The Railways has introduced a mandatory OTP verification system for Tatkal ticket booking from December 1.
An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number of the passenger, and the booking will be completed only after entering the code.

The reform follows complaints that travel agencies were bulk-booking Tatkal tickets within seconds, making it difficult for genuine passengers to secure seats. The new system applies to all booking platforms, including IRCTC website, mobile app, and railway counters.
