Kevadia, Gujarat: Indian cinema legend Mammootty has won the Best Actor award at the 72nd National Film Awards for his extraordinary performance as Kodumon Potti in the psychological horror film Bramayugam. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award at a grand ceremony held at Ekta Nagar in Kevadia, Gujarat.
With this landmark victory, Mammootty has tied with Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan for the record of the most National Film Award wins for Best Actor, with both veteran actors having four trophies each to their name.

The Best Actor category saw a joint win this year, with Kartik Aaryan sharing the prestigious honor alongside Mammootty for his lead role in Chandu Champion.
